This is actually a drawing I did back in the summer. I personally am trying to add more ethnicity to my characters, and this 'African Queen' is my first start. The dress is based on the Ethiopian Kongo outfit, and the crown on motifs borrowed from African Folk Masks. (it is going to be colored red).

I was also experimenting with a new inking style that has more line variety depending on where the light source comes from...and I think it turned out fairly well! =D I plan on coloring this sooner or later...but...for now I have a major commission to do! XDD

Done with Micron Pens in Various Sizes.

As awesome as that would be, no! XD She is not T'Challa's mother, just an original character I played around with. Traditional costuming fascinates me, and I wanted to play around a bit. And I'm glad the dreadlocks came out nicely! I need to do more experimentation for that in terms of character design.
