d: Ran the Sea Witch :b by nenuiel d: Ran the Sea Witch :b by nenuiel
This lady was wwwwwaaaaaayyyyy too much fun to sculpt. She's creepy and scary and gnarled which is far from what I usually do. Thank god for propoxy for her dreadlock hair! XDD

This was my final project for my conceptual Maquette class, where I had to design a monster with at least 3 different textures, including smooth. Ummm...think I have enough? :giggle: Just as a fun side note, the human bones hidden among the coral are removable. I have a femur, a foot, tibia and fibula, and upper arm bone. Can you find them all?

And this is how I see the sea witch from "The Little Mermaid". She has sea snakes for pets, so I figure it's only fitting that she's part sea snake as well. Plus, I just wanted that cool serpentine action. =D

As always, don't borrow, reproduce or distribute these images without my distinct permission. Thanks! :heart:

And the detail was the funnest part! XD Although, it was awkward to look up reference to help make her so grizzly. But it was worth it! =D

Thank you! The details of this sculpt is what made it so fun! Some of the bones are removable around the base. =D I wanted people to interact with it a little.

Thank you! I quite enjoyed sculpting her. Making sure I had cellulite and wrinkles in her breasts was a particularly interesting challenge. =#

That's pretty sweet, are you going to colour it?

I probably should, but for some reason I'm just a fan of the straight grey. I feel like you can see all the shadows and depth. ^^;

I'm a colour man myself. I think it creates more depth, but I suppose it's an aesthetic, because your sculpture looks nice regardless. :shamrock:

One of these days I'm going to have to try painting one of my sculpts. I'm going to do some busts, I may try it out on those.

I think removable tiny bones would likely drive me mental! :laughing:
Despite the work this obviously consumes, I feel inspired by this
to attempt a sculpture myself one day. :heart:
And (you possibly mentioned this, and if so, it eluded me)
what is she made from? :)

It's a definite plus not to
have to need to go to the art suppliance store that is ran by bitchy middle-aged housewives selling things over-expensively *mumble mumble*!
